If you’re excited and curious about the 2022 Kia EV6 then you are in for yet another treat! The upcoming all-electric crossover from Kia might just be the automaker’s first of many electric crossovers, and there might be plenty in store for us. Two More Kia EVs on their way?

While the 2022 Kia EV6 will start making its way to U.S dealerships early next year, the company plans to go full throttle into the EV space by 2025.

According to an Auto Express report, Kia has at least two other electric models in the works, and that its next EV will likely be a large SUV aimed at the United States. This EV will be a seven-seater like the Hyundai IONIQ 7 which is expected to launch in 2024.

What’s it gonna be called?

Although Kia is yet to confirm the names of its upcoming EVs, it holds international trademarks for every iteration from EV1 to EV9. So, considering the EV6 is a crossover the full-size SUV in question could be called the EV7 or the EV8, according to some publications. But these are just educated guesses, so take these names with a pinch of salt.

Could it be a smaller EV6?

The same report claims that Kia also has plans for a smaller crossover SUV, allegedly called the EV4 which will run on the same Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) as the 2022 EV6. However, this model will have smaller dimensions and a shorter wheelbase than the EV6 and could mirror the 2022 Kia Sportage’s size. The EV4 will also likely use the same battery packs as the EV6, which means it will have either a 58.0-kWh or a 77.4-kWh battery pack with either single-motor or dual-motor powertrain options just like the EV6.

The report further states that the larger crossover aka the EV7 or EV8 will make its U.S debut next year, while the smaller EV4 could launch as early as later this year or in early 2023.
