The class of large minivans and SUVs is often competitive between a handful of brands. Being one of the more successful brands in each class, Kia strives to produce vehicles for families large and small. To expand upon this idea, they announced a new multi-purpose vehicle: The Kia Carnival MPV.
Arriving onto the scene is the all-new 2022 Kia Carnival MPV, a vehicle unlike any other in its class. Offering unique new interior features and an updated design for its fresh logo, the model has much to offer those near Kenosha, WI. But how does it compare to the outgoing 2021 Kia Sedona? Palmen Kia compares the two below:
2022 Kia Carnival MPV
2021 Kia Sedona
||Torque (in ft-lbs)
|19 City / 26 Highway MPG||Estimated Fuel Economy||18 City / 24 Highway MPG|
|40.2 cubic feet||Cargo Space||33.9 cubic feet|

One major upgrade the 2022 Kia Carnival MPV offers compared to the 2021 Kia Sedona is its new 3.5-liter engine. Armed with up to 290 horsepower and 262 ft-lbs of torque, the model receives higher marks for its counterpart. However, the 2021 Kia Sedona measured well with its own 276 horsepower compared to its competitors in the minivan category. A slight boost to fuel economy is also given to the 2022 Kia Carnival, though it’s base MSRP value is priced higher due to its new, fresh Kia features.
Beyond its engine, there are tons of new features available in the 2022 Kia Sedona. It all starts at the center console, where a dual 12.3-inch Infotainment Screen offers both Navigation and standard Connectivity features such as Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Paired with Second-Row Side-Flex Seating, the rear interior can be as comfortable as it is spacious. Other key features available in the model are as follows:
