It wasn’t that long ago that Kia wowed us with the K900, proving that the car company has a lot more to offer the North American consumer than a fun, functional, affordable family vehicle (though it has an impressive line-up in that department). Now, with this latest big reveal at the North American International Auto Show held in Detroit this month, we think it’s safe to say you can officially kiss your old vision of Kia goodbye. Do yourself a favor and check out the GT4 Stinger concept.
So, you know it looks great. Check out the wraparound windows (Or, you know, a blacked out A-pillar that looks extremely cool and not unlike a wraparound window)! But just how well has Kia really pulled it off from a driver’s standpoint? Here you go:
315 horspower
6-speed manual transmission
Rear-wheel drive
Brembo Gran Turismo brakes
Double-wishbone suspension
52% font/48% rear weight distribution
If you think that sounds as good as we do, you’re probably wondering about the Kia GT4 Stinger release date. Well, hold your horses for just a minute because it’s not quite an official production model just yet, but if we’re lucky the great reception the car’s been getting since it’s debut in Detroit will move that process right along. As soon we know when you can get your hands on the wheel of one of these, we’ll be sure to let you know so you can come in and schedule the test drive you never thought you’d be taking at a Kia dealership – see you then!
