Turn off all your electronic accessories: These things include your headlights, heater, defroster and anything else you can think of. Your battery will need all the juice it has to get your engine up and running in temperatures this low. 
Turn the key and give it a few seconds to turn over: If your engine starts up right away, that’s fantastic. But sometimes it just takes a second or two for the engine to kick on. However, only do this once. You don’t want to overheat your starter engine.  
Wait and try again: Give everything a minute or two to settle before trying to turn the key again. It might have loosened things up a bit. If the engine still won’t start, you might need a jump to get going. Have your battery tested in this situation to see if it’s time to replace it.
