Four Ways to Cool Your Car Without A/C

When the weather heats up, there’s nothing worse than sitting in a hot car with no air conditioning. One solution may be to get your A/C fixed, but when there’s not room in the budget, you might have to get creative. We have four unique ways to cool your car without A/C, and you can give them a try and let us know what you think in the comments section below!

DIY Air Conditioning for the Car

Open the Windows:

The air outside is warm, but a fresh breeze can make a huge difference. If you roll down your windows, you’ll not only be taking advantage of free air conditioning, but you might actually save fuel money. Running the A/C can really put a dent in your fuel efficiency rating.

Cover Up:

If you aren’t in your car, the sun shouldn’t be either! Buy some inexpensive covers for your windows to put up when you get out. A simple windshield cover will reflect sunlight and keep your car from gathering heat while you are out and about.

Wet Rags for the Vents:

If your car can still blow air, grab a handful of wet rags and tuck them in the vents. When the air blows through, even if it is warm air, the moisture from the rags will make for a cooler driving experience. You might want to keep a spray bottle on hand, though, as the rags will dry out quickly.

Change the Air Filter:

You might not have it in your budget to get you’re A/C fixed, but if you get lucky, the issues you are having might be fixed by simply replacing the air filter. Bring your car into see the experts here and we’ll take a look at your A/C system to see if the air filter would be a quick fix.
