Chemical-Free Spring Cleaning for Your Car

Every year, many of us get the spring cleaning bug, and one of the commonly ignored places that could use a cleaning is our vehicle interiors. Sure, we think about washing the salt and road grime off the exterior of our cars, but what about the inside? Check out these tips for using chemical-free cleaners to get your car in great shape for summer.

Natural Cleaning Tips for Your Car

Cleaning Windows:

Instead of grabbing for the Windex, mix together 1 cup of water, ½ cup of vinegar and ¼ cup of alcohol in a spray bottle. Spray onto your windows and clean it off with a microfiber towel. This streak-free clean will leave your vehicle looking great, and chemical free.

Removing Smells:

If your seats and floor are smelling a little off these days, sprinkle some baking soda onto them and leave it for several hours, or overnight, before vacuuming it up. Baking soda will absorb smells, and you can use dried flowers and herbs mixed in to add a good smell in with the removal of the bad ones.

Cleaning Stains in Fabric:

If you have stains on your seating fabric or the floor, mix together water and vinegar to spray on the area. Let it sit for 20 minutes below blotting it with a towel to remove the liquid. Repeat a few times if necessary. For grease stains, sprinkle with corn starch and let sit before attempting to clean it with spray.
