The 2017 Kia Sportage is smaller than the Sorento overall. Drivers will have three models to choose from for this model – LX, EX and SX Turbo. The 2017 Kia Sorento features seven trims, so there are more options to choose from depending on the driver’s preference. Both vehicles offer seating for five passengers, but the 2017 Sorento offers much more passenger volume.

What’s the difference between the 2017 Kia Sportage and Sorento models?

We figured the easiest way to understand the differences would be to lay them out in an easy-to-read chart. It’s important to note we’re going to focus just on the base models for both vehicles, so there are additional features available on the higher models for both of these SUVS. Let’s see how these two compare:

As you can see from the chart, the 2017 Kia Sorento is larger than the 2017 Kia Sportage. However, both vehicles are equipped with a 2.4-liter I-4 engine and paired with an automatic transmission, which makes their fuel economies quite comparable.

Although the 2017 Kia Sorento is larger, the 2017 Kia Sportage does offer more standard features on the base model. In addition to the features mentioned above, the 2017 Sportage has an optional multi-adjustable driver’s seat as well as automatic dual zone temperature control and a standard 60/40 split-folding rear seat. All of which are not available with the base model of the 2017 Sorento.
