Thinking the sporty, capable Kia Optima might be your next vehicle? Nice choice! Now, do you go for the current 2014 model or hold out for the 2015? Just because the Optima was redesigned for the current model year shouldn’t deter you from thinking there won’t be any changes to the new model – After all, Kia is dedicated to improvement year after year! So what are the 2015 Kia Optima changes that you should be aware of? Read on to find out!
So perhaps the most minor change is that the cruise control buttons have been moved to the right side of the steering wheel – may not prove to be a huge deal for most drivers but the idea is to make things easier and more intuitive for easy use of this handy feature. In other fairly minor news, you can look forward to new interior cloth and stitching on select models, and the acoustic laminated windshield that was once only available on the Limited model is now an option across all trims.
The most significant change is probably the developments that have been made with the UVO infotainment system. There are a number of new security features that those of us with young drivers in the household will certainly appreciate. In the 2015 Kia Optima, you’ll have the following new available features:
Geo Fencing – That means if the car goes outside of your designated perimeter, you’ll be notified, as will the driver.
Speed Alerts – Same deal as with the Geo Fencing, and that’s that if the Optima goes over a certain speed, the driver will receive an alert and so will you.
Curfew Alerts – Somebody under a deadline to get home? The car will send alert letting them know if they’re out past curfew so they know it’s time to get back – and apologize profusely!
In addition to the new security features, the 2015 Kia Optima is also going to be offering three new color options! Platinum Graphite, Sparkling Silver, and Smokey Blue Metallic will now be offered and will take the place of Bright Silver and Metal Bronze.
If you’re interested in test driving the new Optima when it hits our showroom, just drop us a line and we’ll make sure to notify you when it arrives!
