Check out the all-new redesigned Sorento

2016 Kia Sorento Release Date

Earlier this month, Kia released details on the newly redesigned-for-2016 Kia Sorento. We’ve been big fans of this crossover for a long time, not only for its spacious interior and advanced safety and tech features, but because it’s a genuinely reliable, efficient, and great-looking example of what the popular crossover class is all about. Now with the 2016 Kia Sorento release date on the horizon — more on that below! — we’re excited to tell you about what you can expect from this redesigned model, when you can expect to see it in showrooms, and what special options and features will be available.

So, what are some of the major changes that make this 2016 Kia Sorento redesign so significant? One of the major things is that it’s grown a bit in size — about three inches longer, a little bit taller, and that equates to a roomier interior, more ground clearance, and of course it’s still got an available third row of seats if you’d like your passenger capacity to jump from the standard five up to seven.

If you’re the driver, and you’ve driven a previous model Sorento, you’ll really notice the difference in the way the 2016 has been re-engineered. You’ll find that the steering is better, brakes are more responsive, and suspension is improved as well. As for the engine, you’ll still have the 185-hp 4-cylinder and an optional 290-hp V6, but now there comes a third option for 2016: a turbocharged 2.0-liter 4-cylinder that gets 240 horsepower. And of these can be equipped with optional all-wheel drive and each comes with a 6-speed automatic transmission.

Now you’re probably thinking: Alright, sounds great — When can I come check it out? The anticipated release date of the 2016 Kia Sorento is January 2015. In other words, it’s right around the corner so you won’t have to wait long at all! Give us a call if you’d like to schedule your test drive in advance!
